Linguistics

Study the building blocks of language and learn how we turn thoughts into words.

If you鈥檝e always loved languages but thought 2, 3, or even 10 weren鈥檛 enough, you can have all of them and more through linguistics, the study of language (singular). You鈥檒l learn how to describe and analyze sound patterns and the forms, functions, and meanings of words, on their own and when combined into phrases and sentences. Through these elements, linguists try to explain what in the human mind lets us not only utter what we think but also understand each other鈥檚 utterances, in our societies and across generations.
